Friday July 23, 2010:
Joey from the Sun Harbor Bay Club reports that the fishing inside the bay has been fantastic. There is an extremely high number of shorts to keepers but the action is almost none stop. Double Creek channel near the sailboat wreck is a very good spot to fish but is often so pack with boats it looks like a parking lot. If you find that is the case just try drifting up a little closer to the dike or sedge banks or give Oyster creek channel a shot it may well be worth it as the fluke are literally all over. The best fishing is at the change of tide and a bucktail tipped with a spearing or killie combo is the hot bait. The outside fishing has picked up but the story is pretty much the same as there is a high ratio of shorts to keepers. If you do decide to try your luck outside a bonus is that some very nice Seabass have been taken mixed in with the fluke. Bunker are still around but it doesn't seem like there are any bass or blue fish holding under them. The crabbing in the bay has been really good for high numbers as well as good size crabs. Stop by the Sun Harbor gas dock for all your fishing needs and the most up to date fishing information available.
Regards,
Joe / Sun Harbor Bay Club
